The future of supplementation
Orodispersible films (ODFs) are an innovative oral dosage form that dissolves quickly on the tongue without needing water, offering a convenient alternative to tablets or capsules. Developed using IBSA’s patented FilmTec technology, each film contains a uniform distribution of ingredients, ensuring a consistent dose every time.
Because ODFs are formulated with very few added ingredients, they do not rely on stomach acid for activation, allowing effective absorption whilst minimising impact on the digestive system. Clinical evidence shows absorption comparable to traditional solid dosage forms, making ODFs a reliable and effective option.

Why might you need Iron supplementation?
Iron is involved in many processes in the body, it contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, normal transport of oxygen in the body and normal cognitive function. Symptoms commonly associated with Iron deficiency are tiredness, headaches, or pale skin.
Current problems with supplementation
Many iron tablets cause stomach upset, constipation, or have a metallic taste3, making it hard to keep up with supplementation.

PRODUCT VERIFICATION
Reports of counterfeit Profhilo products are increasing across Europe, Asia and South America.These counterfeit products can pose a significant risk to your patients. To ensure your patients remain protected, and that your practice remains fully insured—it is essential to only purchase Profhilo from an authorised distributor, such as Wigmore Medical, who source Profhilo directly from the manufacturer, IBSA UK, and can verify the complete product audit trail at every stage of the manufacturing and supply chain, from raw material, to factory, to practitioner
To further protect UK and Ireland practitioners and their patients, since 1st September 2023, every pack of Profhilo supplied in the UK and Ireland by either HA-Derma or IBSA, has included one of two holograms which can be seen below.
While counterfeit packs may appear highly convincing, even using legitimate batch numbers in some cases, the product contained within is not genuine Profhilo. IBSA UK are exploring a global, legal claim against the manufacture of counterfeit Profhilo products in order to protect practitioners and patients in the UK and Ireland.
