In conversation with Jan Leiper Whiteford

Wigmore News meets independent nurse prescriber Jan Leiper Whiteford

What’s your favourite aesthetic treatment to perform and why?
My favourite aesthetic treatment to perform has got to be recreating volume and restoring symmetry in clients faces using   dermal fillers. It has long been a passion of mine and I gain so much satisfaction restoring confidence in clients.

What is your signature approach when it comes to treating your patients?
I advocate a soft and natural look with natural expression working with clients' expectations to retain my signature approach to rejuvenation.

Why do you use HydroPeptide products?
We have been offering HydroPeptides within our clinic for a short time but already we are seeing the difference in clients and our own skin. The brand is researched, tested and uses patented technology which is one of the main reasons we chose to focus on this range.

Who does the range best suit and why?
The HydroPeptide range is for everyone. There are no clients you cannot treat and the fact you can integrate skin products and treatments for clients who are breastfeeding, pregnant or receiving cancer therapy is just remarkable.

Which are your must-have products and why?
My must have product is the box set Polish & Plump Peel. The set, alongside the firming Vitamin C Mask is a fantastic combination. If your clients are looking for a home treatment this targets fine lines, wrinkles, dull tired skin and helps brighten an uneven skin tone.

Do you use HydroPeptide personally? Which products?
I personally use the Gentle Cleansing Gel morning and night along with the Clarifying Toner Pads. I use Daily Power Serum, Eye Authority and Solar Defence Non-Tinted SFP 50 daily. In the evening add on Lumapro-C to help keep my pigmentation under control.  Twice a week I add in my Polish & Plump Peel with the Vitamin C Mask.

How does HydroPeptide complement the aesthetics treatments you offer?
We have introduced three skin treatments from the HydroPeptide range, and each treatment gains remarkable feedback. The integration of certain masks to adapt to client's skin is very easy, and clients love having additional options.

What do you enjoy most about working in aesthetics?
I love working in aesthetic medicine because it beautifully blends art and science. It's not just about enhancing physical appearance—it's about restoring confidence, empowering people to feel their best, and honouring the individuality of each face and body. Every treatment is a collaboration, and I get to use both my clinical knowledge and my eye for detail to create subtle, natural-looking results that genuinely change lives. The field is always evolving, which keeps me inspired and constantly learning. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone light up when they look in the mirror

What do you think are the industry trends to watch?
I would be looking out for the trends to all convert to concentration on skin. Not just injectable products but treating diseased skin and recreating glass skin.

What are the future plans for you and your practice?
We are pushing forward using HydroPeptides and we will be encouraging development in skin treatments using the full range and introducing more peels.

How does working with Wigmore complement your business, and why?
I have worked with Wigmore for 20 years and always find they offer innovative products and educational training. The delivery is punctual and the staff always very welcoming.
