The effect of regenerative medicine on quality of life and longevity
David Hicks, the inaugural winner of the Aesthetic Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, was a key player in the development of the UK’s aesthetics industry. A qualified pharmacist of many years, David saw the potential of botulinum toxin, along with Wigmore Medical’s CEO, Bedo Eghiayan, and saw the need to launch high quality education for medical and aesthetic professionals. This led to the creation of the internationally acclaimed event FACE, and later BODY. Mr Hicks was also involved in the launch of AM Live as well many other successful product introductions into the UK market. The word legend can be used lightly, but it certainly applies to David within the aesthetics industry.
Professor Syed Haq is a Professor of Medicine and specialises in treating the ageing brain/skin and immune system. He is the Founder of BioImmunitas Ltd, which is focused on developing pharmaceutical therapeutics for targeting systemic inflammatory disorders and COVID-19 by recalibration of the innate immune system, as well as a co-Founder of the AM Aesthetics clinics in London, Belfast and Derry.
Professor Haq has overseen several MHRA-registered clinical trials in the UK and has been awarded two US FDA Orphan Drug Designations. Since 2007, he has advised and acted as International KOL for Merz, Teoxane, Q-med,Bioform, Ipsen, Galderma, Croma and is a consultant for Hugel.
Prof George Titovets is a Gynaecologist, with specialities in genetics, aesthetics and anti-ageing medicine. A Founder and Director of Yuriy Titovets Clinic Medical Centre PROSTIR, Lviv, Ukraine, a Professor at St Sophia International Institute of Beauty and Health, Cyprus, Titovets is also a founding member of the RSM Section of Aesthetics Medicine and Surgery. The author of many unique methods of minimally invasive surgery such as combined perineoplasty, almond eyes, abdominoplasty and waist reduction, Professor Titovets also lectures at aesthetic congresses across the globe.
Dr Mayoni Gooneratne is a former NHS colorectal and pelvic floor surgeon, who undertook a period of research early in her career to look at pathways that affect in continence. She is the founder and CEO of The Clinic by Dr Mayoni, as well as Human Health and Skin Fit, created to help women overcome the blocks that stand between them and their highest potential.
Dr Gooneratne has published in peer reviewed journals, as well as more mainstream consumer press, namely Tatler, Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health. Her clinics areaward-winning and she herself has been awarded the f:Entrepreneur 100 in 2019 and a Silver Award for ‘Best Business Woman in Health and Wellness’ 2022.
Dr Clare Kiely MBBChBAO MRCPI MSc Skin Ageing and Aesthetics
Clare Kiely is a Consultant Dermatologist, and Dermatological and Laser surgeon at the prestigious St Johns Institute of Dermatology, London and HCA Lister Hospital, Chelsea, London. She is highly specialised in a wide range of dermatological issues, with a specific interest in photodamage, skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, acne, acne scarring, and aesthetic dermatology.
She has completed fellowships in Dermato-oncology and Mohs surgery at St Johns institute of Dermatology. She is an honorary lecturer in skin ageing and aesthetics at the University of Manchester where she completed her masters degree. She is current Chair of the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority and is on the executive committee of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group. Dr Kiely is an active researcher in skin cancer with numerous peer-reviewed publications. She is an expert in squamous cell carcinoma and has led the supra-specialty non-melanoma skin cancer team at Guys Hospital. She is an invited speaker nationally and internationally on skin cancer treatment, Mohs surgery, lasers, photo-ageing treatments and aesthetics.
In October 2024 she was appointed as Chair of the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority.
Simon Haroutunian is the Director of SHine Medical Consulting Ltd. Simon founded the company in 2022 to act as a business consultant to the pharmaceutical and aesthetic industries focussing on medical education, training and events and business & brand strategy. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Business Sustainability through the Institute of Sustainability Studies which will allow him to focus on implementing ESG and Sustainable structure within organisations. His previous working experiences have been at Wigmore Medical, FACE, Euromedicom and Merz Aesthetics.
Dr Raj Thethi MBChB BSc (Hons) MRCSEd is a nationally renowned aesthetic doctor and Lead Clinical Trainer for Wigmore Medical. He owns the multi-award winning, CQC-registered Yorkshire Skin Centre in Leeds. As well as running his full-time clinic with complex and advanced medical aesthetic workload, he holds a number of national and international faculty and training positions. These include being Teoxane UK Faculty and being a KOL for Acclaro UltraClear Laser, NeoGen Nitrogen Plasma and Inmode UK for FaceTite. He is an Aligned Advocate of Evolus UK and is on the Clinical Advisory Board for Aesthetic Medicine magazine. He has written and presented extensively and is passionate about evidence based and anatomically grounded aesthetic medicine.
Dr Emma Ravichandran is Co-Founder of the Clinetix group, the Association of Scottish Aesthetic Practitioners (ASAP) and the Aesthetic Training Academy. She initially trained as a paediatric dentist but has dedicated the latter part of her career to pursuing excellence in the field of aesthetic medicine.
Dr Ravichandran’s reputation and dedication to the highest standards in practice have led to guest lecturing at venues such as the Royal College of Surgeons, KOL roles and articles in a wide range of industry journals and publications. She was awarded Medical Aesthetic Practitioner of the Year in the 2018 My Face My Body Awards.
Dr Tatyana Lapa-Enright is an experienced doctor and founder of Hardwick Medical Clinic, Cambridge. She trained at Norwich Medical School with clinical teaching experience at UEA Norwich and undertook research at the University of Cambridge. Her areas of expertise are in aesthetic dermatology for the treatment of skin imperfections and signs of ageing. She is a skilled and experienced injector known for delivering bespoke patient care with natural results.
Timothy Corcoran Flynn is a Cosmetic Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr Flynn was born to two university professors, and somehow survived them, racing into adolescence with curiosity and occasional misbehaviour. He did glean from the parents that learning can be both enlightening and fun and has continually endeavoured to bring both to his research, practice, and teaching.
His medical degree came from the University of Missouri, was awarded a dermatopathology research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, did an internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, conducted dermatology research and pursued medical education and psychiatry projects at UNC before deciding to grow up and complete his dermatology residency at Stanford University. His Mohs micrographic and laser fellowship was completed at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He founded the Mohs programme at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was on the faculty from 1993 until 2001. He served as medical director in private practice at the Cary Skin Center from 2002 until 2021 and was Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina from 2001 until 2019. He has held numerous offices and is especially honoured to have served as President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery from 2012-2013.
He has published over 164 publications and has given over 270 lectures internationally. Tim has been awarded grants in basic research and conducted independent investigator-initiated trials, as well as clinical research. He currently lectures, sees patients, does consulting, and is involved in several research projects. He and his wife Gina have raised two young men now ages 20 and 24. He is still waiting to grow up.
Julie Scott is an independent nurse prescriber with over 25 years’ experience in the field of plastics and skin rejuvenation. Nabil Elmahdawi, he is trainer and safety educator in this field and has received global and awards and commendation throughout his oncology and cancer menopause career. His high expertise in gynaecology oncology and regenerative medicine has led to his development in the functional and aesthetic improvement in women cancer survivors and cancer survivors to compact the aging process of this gruelling illness.
Dr Haq is a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College, London. He is the Founder and Medical Director of the Wellness Hormone Clinic practising in London, Kent and Belfast. Dr Haq trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, and completed a doctorate in thyroid disease at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
Dr Haq has been a principal investigator of several international clinic trials and is widely published. Dr Haq was a double finalist at the National HSJ Value awards in 2021 and won the European Award in Medicine for Endocrinology in 2024.
He has a specialist interest in managing patients with the menopause, menstrual disorders, testosterone deficiency, obesity and thyroid conditions.
Dr Haq is a member of the British Menopause Society, Society of Endocrinology, British Thyroid Association and Diabetes UK.
Dr Mulholland is a surgeon, dual-certified in Plastics and ENT—head and neck oncology. He studied at the University of Toronto and completed his residency at Toronto General Hospital. He founded, SpaMedica Cosmetic Plastic Center and Medical Spa in Toronto in 1997, the leading aesthetics and laser centre in Canada, where he has performed over 6000 cosmetic surgical procedures.
A former professional ice hockey player, Dr Mulholland has worked with leading aesthetic technology companies to develop their machinery, including BodyTite RFAL, Fractora and Morpheus8 with InMode.
Dr Mulholland is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Chris Griffiths is Emeritus Professor of Dermatology at University of Manchester, Adjunct Professor at King’s College London and a Consultant Dermatologist at King’s College Hospital. He qualified in medicine from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School and trained in dermatology at St Mary’s Hospital and the University of Michigan.
In 2015, he received the Sir Archibald Gray Medal for outstanding service to British Dermatology, and in 2019 the BSID Medal for contributions to research.
Chris was appointed OBE 'for services to dermatology' in the 2018 Queen’s New Year Honours. He is a former President of the European Society for Dermatological Research, the European Dermatology Forum, the British Association of Dermatologists, and the International Psoriasis Council, which he co-founded in 2004.
Chris has 791 PubMed-cited articles and is Editor-in-Chief of Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology and Rook’s Dermatology Handbook and received a lifetime achievement award from the American Skin Association in 2009.
He was part of the team in Michigan that demonstrated that topical retinoids are efficacious in the management of ageing skin.

Dr Tamara Griffiths is a senior Consultant Dermatologist at the Dermatology Centre, Salford Royal Hospital NHS Trust, one of the UK’s largest training programmes. She is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, a world-leading centre for dermatological research. She is also an American Board-Certified dermatologist with an international educational reach.
From 2008 she was Dermatology Training Programme Director for the North Western Deanery, and in 2015 was appointed chair of Dermatology Specialist Advisory Committee for the Royal College of Physicians, responsible for all aspects of postgraduate dermatology training in the UK, including the development and implementation of the GMC 2021 Dermatology Curriculum. After launching the British College of Dermatology in 2021, she was appointed as inaugural Education Vice President in 2023.
Dr Griffiths has acted as advisor to the Department of Health’s Review of the Regulation of Cosmetic Interventions led by Sir Bruce Keogh published in 2013. She was instrumental in developing the Health Education England curricula and training frameworks for non-surgical cosmetic interventions (2015) and is a founding member and trustee of the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority (CPSA), which launched in partnership with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) at the House of Lords in 2018. She is Medical Programme Director for the University of Manchester MSc in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine, developed in 2013 and now recognised as the gold standard in the UK and internationally, and is the Cosmetic Dermatology section editor for Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology.
Her clinical team was awarded BMJ Dermatology Team of the Year in 2018, and in 2021 she was recognised by the British Association of Dermatologists as Clinician of the Year. In July 2024 she commenced her two-year term as President of the British Association of Dermatologists.
