Wigmore Medical Training is happy to announce the dates for our new PDO threads course led by Dr Rita Poddar, with the first session being held on 27 February at our CQC-registered training facility on Wigmore Street. With only four places available for each training date, please do email training@wigmoremedical.com to register your interest.

Dr Poddar, Cosmetic Dental Surgeon from the Peppermint Clinic in Glasgow, has designed this introductory PDO Threads training course to ease aesthetic practitioners into this new and unfamiliar treatment area. The comprehensive, half day training programme covers the theory of threads, including essential anatomical knowledge, best practice and techniques, as well as hands-on practice, posttreatment management and complications avoidance. With 22 years’ experience in aesthetics, and over 4000 PDO patient treatments under her belt, Dr Poddar is keen to share her wealth of knowledge.

Polydioxanone aka PDO threads are synthetic threads made from polymers that are naturally broken down by the body over time. With three different types of textures to choose from—mono (sometimes called basic), cog and screw—providing different results for your patients, appropriate thread selection will feature in the training. The mono-variant is a completely smooth thread that offers a subtle lift, while cog threads have a W barbed texture that can give a superior lift and create safe, micro injuries to the skin, boosting the production of collagen and elastin. Finally, screw threads join multiple threads together to provide added volume along with a lift.

In collaboration with Croma Pharma, our training programme uses the Princess threads range, with a particular focus on the use of basic and screw threads in the mid, lower and peri-oral areas. It has been carefully designed to give delegates an in-depth understanding why there are different types and lengths of threads and what to use where to optimise skin rejuvenation and definition.

This CPD certified course is ideal for experienced injectors who are new to thread-lifting and are looking to acquire the foundation knowledge and basic hands-on practice and expand their clinic's treatment portfolio. Post-training support will be available, as well as additional training opportunities for those looking to further advance their knowledge and experience with threads.
