Reps On The Road

We chat to Wigmore Regional Sales Representative, Becky Brown

Q: How long have you worked in your current role?

Four years, and it has flown by! I started on the skincare/makeup counter in the pharmacy and fell in love with ZO and Glo Skin, so when I was approached to be a regional sales representative a year later, I jumped at the chance.

Q: What do you like best about the aesthetics industry?

How much it has grown in the last few years—it’s a thriving industry with its own community which is lovely to be a part of.

Q: What do you think account holders are looking for?

They need support and encouragement. It can be overwhelming stepping into something new, so I like to support my accounts with training, marketing tips and reassurance.

Q: What do you love about the products you represent?

They change people’s lives! When I first started in the pharmacy a customer came in completely masked up as she was allergic to everything. She was desperate to find some makeup that suited her skin. I explained how amazing Glo Minerals was but did not want her to invest until she was convinced, so we trialled some products and I gave her a few samples. She came back the following day so happy and purchased the entire range – she has been a customer ever since. It was the only makeup she had worn in 30 years. ZO also gives incredible results—I’ve seen patients who were depressed and upset about their skin transform into totally different, confident people just six weeks later.

Q: What is the biggest challenge facing the industry?

The public’s perception of the industry is not always positive, due to bad press around aesthetics. I do, however, think people are investing a lot more time in doing their research.

Q: What have you been doing during lockdown?

I’ve honestly been busier than ever, as myself and the sales team have been running daily webinars for new and existing accounts. As a lot of clinics have had to close, our accounts have more time to invest in learning and refreshing their knowledge. Also, Wigmore has been running a drop shipment service, so clinics can supply their patients with products straight to their doorstep, helping bring in some revenue while they are closed.

Q: What have you learnt during this period?

Not to take a normal day for granted. I’ve also built some great relationships with my accounts, as we have more time to speak.

Q: What are you most looking forward to over the next 12 months?

Getting back on the road to see my colleagues and customers—I love that face-to-face interaction and getting hands on with the chemical peels and mineral makeup.

Q: What are your favourite products?

ZO Exfoliating Polish and Daily Power Defense—I can’t live without them and there is nothing else on the market like them. The exfoliating polish contains magnesium crystals that glide over the skin; you can almost feel the dead cells lifting off, leaving an amazing glow. Daily Power Defense is an all-round hero product which helps restore the skins’ barrier function, and is full of anti-ageing and hydrating antioxidants, enzymes, retinol and ceramides.

Q: If you didn't do this job, what would you do?

I’ve always worked in skincare and makeup so I think I would have carried on down a similar route and been a full-time makeup artist, as I like making people feel good.
