About the Course

Skin Anatomy and Physiology is an online training module that is designed to equip both non-medical and medical practitioners with the basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the skin.


Covering key areas including how to identify and treat commonly encountered skin conditions, this course offers the perfect foundation for your understanding of skin, which can be built upon with further training modules on specific skin health brands.


Attendees will be given the knowledge of the different layers of the skin, the cells which are present within these and the role they play in the skins’ function. Additionally, the training will provide delegates with common skin conditions and when to take caution with the skin.


This training will be delivered by Kate Hayes, an Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber, and is designed to offer a concise introduction to the functions of the skin, layers of the skin and different components of skin.

+ Understand the macroscopic and microscopic anatomy of the skin

+ Understand the functions of the different cellular elements in the skin

+ Be aware of the common skin conditions encountered in clinical aesthetic practice

Skin Anatomy Trainer

Kate Hayes is a Nurse Prescriber with a wealth of experience working in various sectors of the health and care industry, primarily for the NHS where she was fortunate to participate across a plethora of disciplines including Critical Care, Community Care and Palliative Care.


Kate has been working in the aesthetics industry since 2019, and in that time, she has been able to further develop her passion for skin care and the ZO skin care brand. She performs a range of injectable and skin care treatments and is dedicated to ensuring ZO Skin Health is a fundamental part of every patient journey. She has recently taken on the role of Skin Anatomy & Physiology trainer at Wigmore Medical to support practitioners looking to optimise their skincare treatments.
