I’ve always considered myself fortunate when it comes to my skin. Unlike many of my friends growing up, I never really struggled with acne. Of course, I’d get the occasional breakout, but for the most part my skin has always been fairly balanced and uncomplicated.
Because of that, I’ve always taken a very relaxed approach to skincare. My mindset was simple: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
I was nervous about introducing so many products at once, worried that I might create problems where there hadn’t really been any before. Up until then, my skincare routine had been inconsistent at best, usually just cleansing and moisturising when I remembered.
That all changed when I was given the opportunity to commit to a proper morning and evening skincare routine.
Working in the skincare industry, I’ve learned that skincare isn’t just about correcting concerns when they arise. It’s also about protecting what you already have and investing in your skin’s long-term health. Even if your skin seems ‘normal’, there is still so much happening beneath the surface.
To better understand my skin, I had a VISIA Skin Scan at Wigmore Pharmacy. The scan highlighted a few areas for improvement. Early signs of sun damage were beginning to appear, and my complexion could benefit from a little more brightness and hydration. Our skincare practitioner also recommended products to help support and strengthen my skin barrier.

One of the biggest takeaways was the importance of wearing SPF daily. It was something I knew I should be doing, but the scan gave me the motivation to become much more consistent.
Following the scan, our skincare practitioner recommended a routine tailored to maintain and support my skin rather than dramatically change it. I was initially concerned that using several products at once might trigger irritation or breakouts, but my skin tolerated the routine much better than expected.
In the morning, I use the IMAGE MD Gentle Cleansing Balm, followed by the IMAGE Skincare Anti-Aging Serum to brighten and support the skin. Next comes HydroPeptide Power Lift, a rich moisturiser that has quickly become one of my favourite products.
I personally love a thicker moisturiser, as I like my skin to feel thoroughly hydrated, and this delivers exactly that. I follow with HydroPeptide Eye Authority to help brighten my undereyes, and finish with an SPF.
In the evening, I repeat the Gentle Cleansing Balm and Anti-Aging Serum, then apply HydroPeptide Barrier Builder to strengthen my skin barrier, followed by HydroPeptide Power Lift.
Since committing to this routine, my skin looks noticeably brighter, smoother and more refreshed. It feels incredibly hydrated, especially when I wake up in the morning.
Most importantly, I’ve realised that skincare isn’t only about fixing problems. Sometimes it’s simply about maintaining healthy skin and giving it the support it needs to stay that way for years to come.
