3/4 Day Training Course
The Wigmore Medical course for 2009 has had to evolve with the industry and offer more for aspiring aesthetic practitioners. With that our course has progressed from a 2 day course to a 3 or 4 day training course.
The Course
The first day of the course held at Wigmore Medical Training Rooms will be an introduction to AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) Chemical Peels and HA (Hyaloronic Acid) Dermal Fillers.
Theory will take up the beginning of each session which is
then followed by hands on training under supervised conditions. There will be a question paper on all the theory that would have been discussed which will take place after the practical work
near the end of the day.
Day 2 will be an introduction to Facial Aesthetics and Hyperhydrosis treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A. The first half of the day devoted to facial rejuvenation finishing with hands on injection experience under the supervision of our highly trained practitioner. The second section of the day will focus on the treatment for Hyperhydrosis with injection techniques and demonstrations. This will lead on to a brief introduction into methods of implementing such aesthetic treatments into your clinic and the most beneficial ways to introduce treatments to your existing clients. There will be a question paper after the practical session after which we will be able to present you with your certificate of attendance, which will enable you to start practicing treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A from your clinic.
The 3 rd day will take place 4 weeks after the first two days and be held at a clinic in Central London run by Dr Huw Jones. On this day you will be able to work through patients in a clinical environment from patient consultation to treatment administration. During your 2-3 hour session Dr Jones will be monitoring all your skills and provide mentoring wherever possible. This day does give you the chance to show what you have learnt and practiced with in the month after the first training course. It will also give you the opportunity to raise any issues you have come across in the time between the initial training and mentoring.
The 4 th day as part of the package is an optional one, which will take place the day after day 1 & 2. This is further opportunity to enhance your skills with dermal fillers for facial contouring. Theory of fillers will be followed by a practical demonstration by a trained representative from Q-Med, the manufacturer of the popular fillers Restylane®, Restylane Lipp®, Restylane Vital® and Perlane®. You will also have a second question test on the subject of fillers and the use for facial aesthetics.

The number of attendees is limited to SIX , enabling a more intense level of training and interaction (this will be determined on a first come first serve basis. All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance, which is proof of their attendance only, which will be sufficient to acquire your medical insurance. You will receive a second certificate for the additional hands on training with Q-Med at your practice. Both certificates are recognised by all the major insurance groups and fellow associations.
This course is only available to medical practitioners with current GMC, GDC and RGN registration.
Models
We encourage you to bring a ‘model' to inject on as it can be useful for your development as you will be able to monitor the changes and differences made after using the products. If you are unable to bring one, please inform me and I will do my best to provide a volunteer. The model will be needed from 11.30 for 2 hours on the Botulinum Toxin day and up to 4 hours for the Filler day. For the Chemical peel section on day one will be sent out a pre peel pack for your model for him/her to start a the program which will be completed on the first day of training.
Cost
The cost of the course (3 days) is £1950 (Including VAT)
which covers all Botulinum Toxin Type A, Chemical Peel and Dermal Filler Product over the first two days and your time in
the clinic with Dr Jones. The 4 th day is optional and is not included in the price for the 3 day combined course.
This session is normally £900 including VAT, however if this
day is made as part of the Combined course then the cost
will be lowered to £450 including VAT
