Fillers

Fillers are used for the treatment of static lines & creases as opposed to the dynamic lines where Botulinum Toxin is used. They can be classified fairly simply as standard or longer acting & act either by directly filling the troughs or by causing collagen stimulation and consequent volumisation. A wide range of hyaluronic acid products are available with similar basic properties but often detail differences which give them specific market position. Collagen which started the filler market is making a comeback in an improved and updated form.
There are many longer acting fillers and volumisers, each with specific advantages & occasionally drawbacks. Injection technique is critically important and it is essential that appropriate training is always sought.
